Throughout the thunder and heavy rain,
In favor of forever she stayed,
And she hoped that her lover would return one day.
The moon frowned softly as it waxed and waned,
And ever despondent the maiden became.
Her lover had left on a ship to wage war,
And although he had promised to return before,
Their disbelief showed as tears in their eyes,
And they barely could squeeze out their whispers “goodbye”...
